If you know me at all, you know I like gear. Especially hi-tech gear. I held out as long as I could for the Ipad, but I finally bought one right after Christmas with the money I got as gifts. So, if you gave me any money for Christmas, thank you for my Ipad
.
There are a ton of websites and smart phone applications that can help you stay on track with your goals, log your workouts, and keep track of your diet and meals.
Here are a few that I like and use:
Websites:
www.myfitnesspal.comis a simple and easy to use website that will track all of the food you eat. Just type in what you ate and it will tell you how many calories it is and what it consist of (carbs, fat, protein). It will also give you recommendations on how much you should eat based on your height, weight and activity level.
http://traininglog.runnersworld.com This is a great running and exercise journal provided by runners world. I used it when I was training for the San Diego Marathon. It also tracks the mileage on your running shoes.
www.mapmyride.com I haven’t used this site personally but I have heard that is great for designing new biking routes. You can create new biking routes, workouts and find people to ride with all on the same site!
Smart Phone Apps:
Run Keeper- This is a great app for recording your workouts! It keeps track of distance, speed (average and max), and calories burned. It works for more activities than just running. I have used it for running, biking, and even snowboarding.
Ultra Trainer- This is one of my favorite apps. It is an interval timer. You can create any kind of interval you want. This is great for doing High Intensity Intervals, just like the ones we do in boot camp!
Weight Bot- This is a good app for tracking your results. It is simple but it will make sure you are staying on pace to reach your goals!.
These are just a few of the websites and smart phone applications that I use to track my results, keep myself accountable, and create fun and effective workouts!
Leave me a comment below letting me know what websites or applications you use to stay motivated and on track to reach your goals.
Take care and I will talk to you soon,
Jeff
